Nails that penetrate the skin

Subcutaneous hematoma is caused by an injury to the nail. A hematoma forms in the affected area which cannot be expanded. Treatment by a podiatrist is required in the first 2 days after the injury, otherwise the nail may be lost or chronic problems may be caused.
